Day 6 001

Arrivederci Capri

Day 6 005It’s always so hard to say goodbye. To let go. It is even harder when you are saying goodbye to Capri.

Day 3 008Four glorious days on this island paradise. And Paradise in the true sense of the word, for here you do feel as though this could be the world that God intended to create for the enjoyment of his two legged creation. And the innocent pleasures you experience here – warm sun, cool, fresh breezes, intense blue skies, golden sunsets, clean, pure simple grilled fish, abundant shellfish, crisp, light, exhilarating wine – all of these pleasures are found in abundance here and are available freely just as Adam and Eve enjoyed before the Fall.

Day 6 002But as Adam and Eve learned, all good things inevitably come to an end. And so we say goodbye. We let go of Capri. It fades from view out the back of our hydrofoil, its memories still clear and vivid in our minds. Its pleasures still warming and intoxicating us and bringing an almost imperceptible smile to our faces.

It is always so hard to say goodbye. To let go. But it is a task made easier when your next journey is only a half hour away. When it, too, could be mistaken for Paradise. A place also so full of innocent, heady pleasures. Of sun, water, food and wine.

Day 6 003We say goodbye to Capri. But we say hello to its neighbor, Ischia. Our island home for the next seven days. Where we will splash in the water, warm ourselves and let go in the sun, where we will enjoy long days and cool, moonlit nights. Where life is slow and manageable, full and meaningful. Where every moment is a moment to be cherished and treasured and deserves to be.

Ischia. Stay tuned.

Ci vediamo!
